The Civil Procedure Rules, 2010. outline instances where chamber summons are applicable when approaching the Kenyan Courts:

When seeking to add or strike out or substitute a plaintiff/ defendant (Under Order 1, Rule 14).

Applying to seek leave to issue third and subsequent Notice in a suit (Under Order 1, Rule 15).

Application for default of Appearance by Government as a Third Party (Under Order 1, Rule 18).

Seeking Judgment against Third Party in default (Under Order 1, Rule 19).

Seeking leave to enter Judgment against Government under Rule 19 (Under Order 1, Rule 20(2) ).

Application for appearance of Third Party and Directions (Under Order 1, Rule 22).

Application by Plaintiff to show that no further information is required (Under Order 2, Rule 1 (3) ).

Application for Accounts (Under Order 20, Rule 3).

Application when minor attains age of majority (Under Order 32, Rule 12 (3) ).
